Arte-Education and Art-Therapy:

What is the difference?

Generally is this what the people ask, when I explaiin what is Art-Education. and many times, I listen answers like that:

-' Ahhhh I undertood! You are art-therapist!"

"- So, how? Are you artist or therapist?

"-Ahh, Art-Education and Art-Therapy is the same thing, don't you?;

And many others...

Now, tell me, art-educator and psycollogy. did are you already pass for something, like that?

Is a situation that I live in my professional life ..

Rare were the people, that really understood and said:

-"Ah! You development the student between the Art! ; or

-"So you can teach for the art-educators,too?

The association of Art-Education and Art-Therapy is immediate! On fact, are simmilar, although, they have differents functions.

First let's be difference the areas, follow their respectly arts:

• Th Psychology is a area from Health the analyze and treat the soul; psique and emotions of individual. In other words, in the Art-Therapy case, the psychologists and therapists, use the artistic languages(paint; theatre, dance and music) to help in the treatment of their patients

• The Pedagogy and theAndragogy are complementary aereas of the Education that fully development, the student. The first one in the chilhood and teenager fase; and the second one, in the adult and longevity fase. In other words, in the Art-Education case, the pedagogues and andragogues, use the artistic languages to complete the education activities and fully development the human.

So, the Art-Education development and; the Art-Therapy treat Simple like that!
